From the 1st of January for a trial period of 6 months, the Archeology Museum at the Chateau in Saint Germain-en-Laye will be open to the public free of charge. The National Museums wish to trial the benefits of allowing free access and this is a great opportunity to visit their collections. The Archeology museum is vast and although it has many wonderful exhibits, it can sometimes be difficult to capture the attention span of young children for the whole time that it takes to view the collection, and so the ability to 'drop in' for just 30 mins or an hour to see just a small selection is, I think, more likely to encourage interest from our children and stimulate their interest. Exhibits range from Stone Age tools, Bronze age jewellery, Roman statues, mosaics, pottery and other artefacts.
