Concert for families organised by Croissy sans Frontieres and the local music school for the benefit of the local community and especially invited guests from the Club d'Amitie.

Boisgrelot - Tango Quartet  at Bougival Junior School, chemin du mur du Parc, Bougival featuring one of the BSP violin
teachers plus other professional musicians.
Named after a mysterious stone plaque uncovered many years ago during renovations to the school, the Boisgrelot concerts have become an annual event in the school calendar.  The Bougival hills have a long musical history :  the 19th century opera singer Pauline Viardot lived just below the Bougival school alongside the present day N13.  Although born in Paris, she was of Spanish origin being the daughter of Manuel Garcia, a famous tenor and composer of music.  She worked alongside and counted amongst her friends such names as Schumann, Berlioz, Saint-Saens, Gounod and Faure.  Georges Bizet had also performed alongside her in a concert and like her, he also owned a house in rue Douai in Paris.  Furthermore, he lived opposite her alongside the river at Bougival so it is perhaps likely that she inspired him with ideas for his famous opera  "Carmen" : it apparently contains thematic elements from some of her father's songs in one of the entr'actes.
So with all this local latino influence, this year's concert should certainly inspire plenty of passion and tickets (8 euros each) are available from the Bougival school office which includes an after concert drink, cheese and wine.
